Would love to stay at Mohonk, if a single night wasn't what we usually spend for a week of lodgings when we travel :)

Same here. Looked at those prices and figured we could take plenty of trips that would be just as fun with scenery just as nice and spend a third or less of the cost. Gotta say it looks pretty damn cool, though.

I couldn't really decide if this should go in the Funny, Awesome, or Sad/scary picture thread.  Guess I'll just put it here:

And people wonder at me when I say I prefer the good old days of single superhero comics. Fantastic 4 was already getting too complicated for my tastes.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

They should have left out the flirting pink line. I mean really. Doesn't pretty much every opposite sex character flirt in X-Men? It seems like trying to make the chart more expansive to me.

1. Wolverine doesn't have a thing for random asian chicks, they have a thing for him. He's a big, burly gaijin. It's just bad comic writing.

2. I do not see a pink line between cyclops and wolverine. Artist of said image confirmed as unfunny homophobic neckbeard.  awesome, for real

That schema points to a strangely strictly heterosexual universe. I haven't read an X-men comic in my life but that seems odd to me.

I've stayed at Mohonk a number of times. It's great if a bit pricey (obviously). Been awhile, but they used to take minimum two-night reservations too. Favorite part was the scrambling. From one of those old film cameras that also did panoramics:

The other thing I love is the walking path around the lake. Every 100 feet or so is another sitting area, each older than the last as noted by the carvings. The wife and I took turns trying to find the oldest. Iirc she won with a carving from 1883. Given enough time, graffiti becomes historically relevant. wink

It's the X-Verse, if being direct blood relations was a barrier to relationships noone would ever know who they could bang.

Also there was definitely at least a couple of one-sided gay love affairs. Generally though Marvel doesn't have a huge number of gay relationships, I'd guess partly because they save them for "shock, look we're being all embracing!" type moments. Shatterstar recently got revealed as gay if that adds anything, can't remember who he was revealed with.

I think Northstar was the only "official" gay male mutant forever.  Some more have come out as mentioned though.  The problem is, I don't think any of them are actually gay with each other, just random non-mutant men with no names, so the connection wouldn't show up on that chart.  A lot more Lesbians abound though.  Because hey, Lesbians sex.

You all realize that you are talking about the sexual preferences of made up mutant superhero characters in the Awesome Pictures thread, yes?  Just saying.

I only heard about the Shatterstar things since apparently Liefeld responded to this travesty called 'character development' by saying he thought it was an affront to stick some form of sexuality on his character who totally isn't gay and that he couldn't wait for the opportunity to retcon away the gay (oh and to inform everyone how he totally isn't homophobic it just doesn't fit for his long haired, poofy shirt wearing charcter to be gay).
