I don't remember where mostly I was talking about PCSX2, but I downloaded version 1.2.1 and verified that it basically works out of the box with the minor hangup that it doesn't recognize savestates from v1.0.0.  I haven't been able to determine if it is faster, but a few minutes in Atelier Iris 3 didn't give the very tiny BUZZ sound and stutter I had when entering menus.

Dreamfall Chapters just came out. I didn't even know it was still actively being worked on. I shall NOT GIVE Ragnar my 29.99 American Dollars. He may have my 10 Christmas Bucks.

Episodic game from Funcom.  What could go wrong?

Lol, could you possibly get any more owned. Bad writer convinces his wife to have an "open marriage", she gets fucked on the side and he can't get any, complains on twitter about it, suddenly decides he's bi and regrets "not having touched some wangs earlier in life", still can't get any, gets divorced.

Borderlands 2 was hilarious, and is my template for how to tell story right in an action game. Short cut scenes used fairly rarely, and otherwise dialog delivered while you're still playing. I am capable of listening while shooting things; if you take away my ability to shoot things I'm more likely to skip your cutscene, alt tab, or play with my cellphone until it is over. Did I mention hilarious? Assault on Dragon Keep was probably the most I've laughed at a video game since the original Portal.

The story is what kept pushing me through borderlands 2.  I mean, I enjoyed it enough, but the combat can get a bit samey and grindy.  But I could not stop playing it because I just wanted more of the story, more of the characters, more of the laughs.  It's one of the most awesome games ever (for me) entirely because of the writing and voice acting.

Less consistently funny than Portal 1. Portal 1 had far less dialogue, but what it had was more subtle, more clever, and straight up funnier.

I think the last game I laughed out loud at was The Stanley Parable.

While I loved me some Portal 1, and it was a better game, I still laughed out loud multiple times at Cave Johnson. He made the 2nd game for me.

Yeah, Portal 2 had plenty of seriously funny moments.  I think it suffered from being a sequel (hard to replicate that first play through Portal experience) and being a bit on the long side (there were places where it dragged a bit).  Still enjoyed it a bunch.

I've been playing around with the alpha of Evolve this weekend and I must say that it's pretty cool, although I totally fail to see the staying power of such a game. Feels more like a party game than anything else, and while I can easily imagine a few fun nights with friends over LAN or TeamSpeak, I can't see myself loggin in after a week or so for some random 4v1 PvP matches. Left 4 Dead, at least to me, had a sense of progression through the episodes/story, and in the map itself (go from point A to B, survive). Unless they do something similar here, which is harder considering the whole thing is about 4 hunters and 1 monster in an arena-like map, I really wonder if such a game was a good idea to begin with.

So Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition hit Steam, GOG, mobile, etc.

It's $10 on mobile and $20 on PC, with the mobile version advertised as having IAPs (which would presumably drive down the initial cost of the thing, like with BGEE and BG2EE).

There are no IAPs; both the PC and mobile versions get everything out of the box. The game is double the price on PC for no real reason.

I'll buy it eventually once it is cheaper; unlike BG1 and BG2, for whatever reason I can't get the widescreen mods to work with IWD. It lags *horribly*, and I've tried basically everything that the internet has suggested for a fix.
