It's spring in Baltimore and unlike last year, it's not overcast and raining while the cherry blossoms are peaking.  Which means it's time to go over and take the yearly Pagoda shot at Patterson Park.

I've been watching Mom's dog for the last and decided to get a few shots with the new camera while playing with her after work today.

I took this today on Angel Island.  Surprised at how well it turned out since this camera tends to suck at close-up work.

Went up to Jockey Hollow here in New Jersey for a small hike with the girlfriend.  Here's a picture of the Soldier's Huts

Then in the evening we went to a friends house for a few drinks and dinner.

Scouting for some locations for portraits and testing to see how far I can walk carrying a medium camera bag & gear now. I love this tree:

Edit: Did a stitch job too.

They're all shot on the Nikkor10.5mm f2.8 fisheye lens, bottom one is 8 shots, rotating round the lens nodal point, stitched together with panotools. Tiny bit of flash on the middle one just to lift the texture on the lower part of the trunk.

Figured so. I'll just have to borrow Stewie's 10mm when he's not looking.

Rather than share the spider pic in here, I thought I'd share this one of a bee pollinating our weeping cherry.

New addition to the library neighborhood.

That block had fallen off between the time I left for lunch (and grabbed my camera) and came back to snap the photo. There's something bizarre about seeing that car and my immediate thought is "Oh, that's got to be uploaded to the collective!"

I guess I missed it over the weekend, apparently Saturday he had newspapers instead of plastic.

Five days in Istanbul.

I'm so jealous: I went to Byzantium for the 450th anniversary of the fall of the city, and the Hagia Sophia left me speechless.  I am convinced it is the most breathtakingly beautiful space in the world, and when they remove the scaffolding I will probably go back again as soon as I can.  If someone could bribe a handy Turk to remove the jarring Arabic medallions it would be even better.  And don't anyone get snooty over that, since we merrily bribed our way into all sorts of places, including the amazing, beautiful but frankly deadly Citadel of the Seven Towers.

Tu quoque (IPA: /tu ˈkwoʊkwɛ/, Latin for "You, too" or "You, also") is a Latin term used to mean a type of logical fallacy. The argument states that a certain position is false or wrong and/or should be disregarded because its proponent fails to act consistently in accordance with that position; it attempts to show that a criticism or objection applies equally to the person making it. It is considered an ad hominem argument, since it focuses on the party itself, rather than its positions.[1]
