Ewwwwwww.
My gramps just tosses it into a burlap sack and throws into a pit of coals and buries it for a day. Not this sicko display of humanities triumph over the common animal! I bet it wasn't even dead with your trussed it up in your little cage! (Last two sentence are green, but still: ewww).

The Italian side of my family used to roast a porchetta for family functions. The Norwegian side just ignored everyone. I preferred the Italian side on birthdays and holidays and the Norwegian side the rest of the time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAUCED and goodbye to Piggy. It was for a good cause. I wish my freezer had enough room for a pig head.

We had a keg of Blue Heron and ~40 people, so it was awesome. We also busted out a durian which was not so awesome.

The inside of a durian looks like what I would expect a pod person fetus to look like.

Growing up with rednecks, pig roasts were a pretty regular and awesome thing. Lots of beer, pork, people and Willie Nelson.

Thanks, Signe! It was an insane amount of work, but so worth it. Voodoo was nice enough to not include some before pictures in her post. The "too old for this shit" hangover the next day was a little on the nose, though.

That looks like a hell of a lot of fun! I got to work most of the weekend instead. It was ALMOST as fun. Except totally the opposite.

We're all assuming that he didn't just run over to a natal care facily and make off with the closest infant at hand. Lets not forget just how compelling NiX's exortation can be to some of us.

I should get back to nature, too. You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer. Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached. Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Naw, that's the plan for later on today. The security surrounding newborns is actually pretty insane. They've got her lowjacked with a tag that sets off alarms and mantraps if you pass through security without punching in a special code on the doors. There's also security all over the floor and the parents are both tagged with a plastic bracelet that you have to wear at all times and if you remove it prior to the baby leaving the hospital, you're screwed, because they only do it once, at about 15 minutes post birth while everyone is still in the room together.

Dunno, but I'd wager that hysterically paranoid parents are farily prevalent.

When we had our little girl a few months ago, they put a special anklet with a sensor in it on her. The maternity ward was on the 2nd floor and there was only a single elevator leading up to it (there were other exits but they would set off alarms if opened). If a baby with one of those anklets got on the elevator, it would set off alarms. If the anklet was removed without using a special key, it would set off an alarm. Before the staff would hand off the baby, they would check her bracelet against ours. A friend of ours who had a baby in another hospital had bracelets which would light up and chirp when the parent's and baby's bracelets would come together. And since this is a picture thread, here's Autumn with her pants on her head. ...and here she is in her bath boat.

Attempts are farily prevalant, or were at one point. Particularly with white kids fetching such high adoption prices. Hell, how many missing kids are there every day even with hyper parnoid and overzealous parents out there? But that's not the question. The better question is; "what's an acceptable number of baby thefts?" If your answer is 0 then the precautions seem sensible to me.

This is what I found when I went to get in my car this morning. Someone tagged me in the middle of the night. Looks like they backed up from the driveway across the street and right into my car. I'm not sure if it was the neighbors or just some random, I don't leave a fucking note, asshole who was probably drunk. Ya, I'm a happy camper right now.
