Title: Ever wonder what you're prolly not supposed to say online in a Blizzard game?
Post by: Fabricated on November 18, 2010, 11:18:21 AM
Now you know:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/146741/smaps-edit.txt (Right Click, Save Link As)

Or

http://www.mediafire.com/?8ly3rixl95wv0ld

If you have WoW or another Blizzard title installed this is in the battle.net program data. I just grabbed it out and cleaned most of the gibberish separators out of it.

No there's nothing sinister behind it; it's just whatever words blizzard's curse filter is supposed to intercept or flag or whatever.

Link works for me either way.

I was linked to this WoW thread today which made me laugh.

Help. I swallowed my authenticator.  (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=27744885827&pageNo=1&sid=1)

No, I'm not trolling. I am serious.

I was sitting in my chair and biting into my authenticator while thinking about several RP related story arcs that I have planned. I swivvel around in my chair and presume to fall off it and shoot the authenticator into my mouth and down my throat.

I have drank some of that stuff that makes you vomit, but I'm apparently resistant to a whole bottle of it.

I am curious on what I should do.

Do you need a dropbox account to actually read the file?

(not that I really care)

I get a drop box error as well... something about not finding the server. I blame the swamp gas

Dropbox is just being a little flakey today, I think.  I couldn't get to some of my images earlier from their public links.

I don't think all of those are actual filter words, just potential flag words.

Well obviously those are where all the terrorists live, hence the auto-flag.

So basically, WoW is assuming that all the scandinavian countries (and more I'm sure, I stopped bothering to look for names) are "bad countries". But america or USA is fine. :why_so_serious:

Lots of those make no sense. Agent orange? Why can't I say that? Why would they even flag that?

You can say it.  The list is probably for a heuristic spam filter.
