I'm starting to really like it. There's enough crazy to go around and keep everyone amused. We're pretty sure everyone but the family is dead and the parents definitely need to join them. And I'm hoping the daughter and her bf are the ones to do it. Sure, they don't have much in common. She's a confused adolescent with messed up parents and he's the ghost of a psychopathic mass murderer who shot up the local high school. But we're rooting for those crazy kids.

Yeah i had that pegged from the moment they said she wasn't going to school anymore. I think it would have been a better reveal if the parents found out at the same time as the audience.

Where would the fun be in that, I hate them both and now we get to have it hanging over them. The suspense is terrible, I hope it'll last.

I didn't see it coming - why wasn't I even thinking about that, in hindsight I should have known.
Really liking this show now despite hating everyone.

My wife pointed out last episode or at the beginning of this last one that the girl hadn't left the house in a while. At that point, we sort of put it together. Still, a nice twist for sure.
And I'm with everyone that says they hate the characters, but kind of like the show. Hopefully they all die.

Hopefully they all die. Most of them have. Given the premise of the show, I'm rather hoping the parents don't die because then we'd never be rid of them.

Watched the first three episodes all in one go. This show is pure undistilled awesome. Somehow, Itt has that 60s Batman TV quality to it. I haven't laughed half as much watching any comedy in years.

We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I.

So I heven't watched a single episode, but the season finale came on while I was too lazy to change the channel. What a fucked up thing... I'll have to go back and watch the whole thing just to understand who anyone but the family is. Also, I wonder how there's going to be anymore seasons.

Why am I homeless? Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question. They called it The Prayer, its answer was law Mommy come back 'cause the water's all gone

As the season progressed I figured they where going to kill the family and that following seasons would be new families each time. With the very end though and them just jumping forward three years makes me wonder if another season would be a whole new story entirely. Seems a bit odd as they seemed to be setting up some lore to explore later, we never got any explanation for the devil/hag woman did we?

According to this, the next season will be an entirely different story - different house, different family.

I love this show... and I am very curious how this unusual approach is going to work out next season.

Necro (kinda appropriate here).
Soo...I guess nobody else has been watching the new season? I've been liking it from a purely visceral point of view as S2 has been much nastier than S1. Not sure how they're going to tie all the divergent elements together but I've been having fun watching it.

No, I watch it religiously. The second season has been rather brilliant so far, I have sooooo many questions. According to this, the next season will be an entirely different story - different house, different family. Talk about an understatement!

My girlfriend is watching it. I watched the first 3-4 episodes and it seemed too much like torture porn for me rather than intelligently done.

My partner is totally freaked out by Asylum stuff so we haven't been watching it. It's with The Walking Dead on her list of things I should watch when she's in the room, so she can follow, but not actually watching, so she won't get scared.
I enjoyed the first season more, mainly for shipping psycho and angst girl.

Ian Mcshane was a welcome surprise, as was redneck Dylan Mcdermott. Overall I have been liking it, whilst also getting a bit annoyed that there is less modern day parts.

I watched the first episode on Netflix. It was pretty okay. I hope it gets a lot scarier, though.

When I saw Kathy Bates in the first scene (AHS:C), I knew this was going to crazy town. Was not disappointed.

From the depths, like the fetid, moldering corpse of the forgotten junkie celebrity spinning slowly in the shallow end of the clogged and filthy swimming pool... ARISE! Season 5 started, with Lady Gaga in it. As ever it walks the line between crazy and ridiculous very carefully, which makes it hilariously entertaining. Another one with a beautiful building - an art deco hotel - for the nice camerawork to take place in. Wide angle lenses with perfect central symmetry to the shots, very iconic. Definite homages to The Shining and The Hunger, and some utterly cliched soundtrack choices (Bauhaus anyone?). Not to be taken seriously. Worth watching though, IMO. Also I really like Lady Gaga and I'm not 100% sure why.

When she crossed over, she was just a ship. But when she came back... she was bullshit!
|
I'm not liking this season as much. It's not clear what's going on, we have a hotel that acts like Murder House, with ghosts that persist inside the hotel, and we have a vampire nest led by Gaga inside the hotel, and a random parade of serial killers....
So many characters are inside each other's flashbacks, I can't tell when we are in real time, and so many of the male actors are the same physical type that I lose track of them as well. All that is really left is the gorror.

Yeah it's bonkers for sure. I'm watching it now purely for light relief, as a self-referential comedy. Which it does quite well.
