Petit and McShea got hit. Woah. Not that I really liked any of their work as a whole (both kind of annoyed me in their own special way), but Kevin Van Ord is going to be a busy man.
While Gamespot's rating numbers are usually inflated crap, you could really tell what the "real rating" was from the review itself. Then every once in a while someone wouldn't pay up and they'd savage a game.

Meant to post this a couple of days ago but forgot. That's about a 12 per cent drop over the next five years. A new market forecast probing the PC and console games market also predicted that consoles will lose market share, with 50 per cent of all revenue coming from PC games. It also reveals that despite the decreasing sales of console hardware and increasing significance of mobile platforms, PC and console games will still account for over 50 per cent of industry revenues over the next five years. When the ninth generation of consoles arrives in 2019, there will be a short spike in software sales followed by a longer term decline. Of course, anyone paying attention to the "AAA" game development industry figured this out a while back. |

I like how the cited study is worded and I admire the precision of their crystal ball regarding the future. I also like how there is no sensationalism and hyperbole whatsoever (12.5% is 'crash and burn' now? Really?

Or would it simply just undermine the 'Waaaaaah, we're all gonna die' argument if they would have added the mobile revenues and could no longer argue that revenue will decline and that it simply shifts from PC and Console to mobile?

For that to happen Germany (one of the last significant PC game markets in the world) would need to buy a shitload of PC games. When popular PC game makers like Valve or Blizzard seriously explore the 'free to play' market and even try to make the PC more 'console-like' (Steambox for example) I somehow doubt that the market segment that is on decline the longest will make such a serious comeback over the next five years.
'When the ninth generation of consoles arrives in 2019'. Hah you wish!. It will be 2015 until we see the first big realeses for the current comsole cycle and with the current dev budgets and project timefrimes by the time 2019 rolls arounds we'll still be well in the current cycle

Archives are getting muted for just the background music of the games they are playing. Their algorithm needs some work.

Like any Bioware game, the big events converge, but the end user experience feels different. It feels a lot better to go out on a high note willingly than a low one by being forced out.

In Video Game related drama; Zoe Quinn, the creator of Depression Quest basically got helldumped by her thoroughly cuckolded boyfriend. Turns out she basically was fucking around on him with 5 other people, including her boss (who is married) and a Kotaku writer who gave her game a good review.
