Have you left it really big because making it a higher quality small image would make the lack of awesomeness obvious?

Sorry, next time I'll just post a picture of all the sand in your vagina.

To be fair to the Lame one, posting a pick so big you can only see 20% of it at a time does kind of kill the awesome factor most of the time. For example, Godzilla tree is somewhat less awesome if all you see is:

It's easy to make a larger image viewable. At the very least don't be a dick about it.

St. Maarten. There are lots of pictures of these types of landings there.

Yeah, I think it's been rated as the most difficult airport to land at in the world, or definitely in the top 10.

Yeah, I'm currently reading Surface Detail, and one of the system ships is over 100km long.

Not to mention BS Galactica.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Here'e a much better source that takes scale into account:

The scale on the original image is 1 pixel to 10m, which kinda works on the full size image. The 2000x scale and Big tabs on the original Jeff Russell site are cool, Ive always been fascinated with megaconstructs, and the 1x has Mr Staypuft and Godzilla :D

The site has been around for years too, when i first found the site, it was before Halo and new BSG and mostly SW, ST, old sci-fiction and anime.. It was nice to revisit it and check the newer stuff out.

Yea the scale in the Culture series is just incomparable. But those GDIs really transcend "ship" anyway in the same way the AI there transcends "computer". Love the books, particularly The Player of Games.

Otherwise, nothing to add :P

One of the most beautiful snakes I have found and shot so far, which is a photographer's delight because of its vibrant colors and its posture, which is actually a self-defense posture. I want to see the rest of that clip to see what's going on.  But it does look like he's getting ready to lay down and take a beating.
