I've been told that you can basically get 3 months of EVE for $6 if you send out three buddy trials to yourself and then apply the $2 Steam keys to each one, giving you 30 free days on your main account due to the trials "subscribing."

For 2 Dollars in NY I can get a slice of pizza, or now I can buy EVE online, apparently...

It's still a hard choice.

ya, I just got the gothic pack and the download of gothic 2 (3 gigs) is taking forever!

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I mentioned it earlier, but if you're grabbing the Gothic pack and haven't played either, Gothic 2 is the much better game. I bought them both even though I've already finished Gothic 2 twice (once before and once after the expansion) and finished maybe 75% of Gothic 3. And I haven't even cracked Risen yet...but $2? C'mon, that's a gimme if you like euro-style rpg.

Ya, gonna play Gothic 2 first. I think I had it a while back and tried to play it, but never got into it. Going to give it another shot, since I'm in a gaming dry spell.

The servers are getting absolutely murdered over this sale. I may end up buying shit I won't download for 2 weeks.

Yeah, I picked up the Gothic pack, but I dont plan on DLing it until I have beaten some of these other games I bought.

Actually according to the Steam staff, it's the publisher's doing, for both this and The Witcher.

Seems they only have a limited amount of copies they're allowed to sell at the lower price point, after which they have to sell at a slightly higher one.

Was the bundle at 90% off originally? I thought it was just 75% and the math was off.

I really wish Steam would mark specials that only have a limited number of copies, uh, specially.

Would be nice. I can understand Valve not really having total control over it though.

I'm just happy to finally be able to get a bunch of games I've been wanting for a while, but never could really justify getting at the asking prices, like Civ IV and its expansions or the two Dawn of Wars.

Got Chronicles of Riddick, Force Unleashed, and UFO: Afterlight so far.

Nothing tempts me today that I don't already have due to previous sales.

Well, I'm happy I grabbed the Gothica pack at 90% off this morning then.

Well that's twice I've waited too long, this is most likely a good thing.

No Gothic bundle in the AUS store.

Few things bounce me so much from love to hate and back again as steam.

Hah, it's funny how something going from $2 to $5 can make me lose interest.  (Heh, I was out of the house. )

Got Force Unleashed because I need something that's just stupid fun and DOW2 because I want to play some RTS before SC2 hits.

I just wish the first DoW would go on sale someday.  It's more expensive than it's sequel normally, even when it's not on sale.  Grumble grumble.

Hey, WTF? When did THQ's "Complete Pack" stop including DoW Gold Edition (DoW/DoW Winter Assault)? That's just wrong.

This is true. I got the THQ pack last night and it included DoW Gold along with, oddly enough, a separate Winter Assault, which is already in Gold.

The THQ "complete" pack seems to be missing quite a few things..

That's strange because I picked it up on the second day of the sale I think, and those were included.

Its now offical. I'll only buy Steam Games on sale in the future. King Arthur for 17 Euro instead of the 49.90 I paid. For that money that would have been a good buy I think.

OP Updated, it's about as exciting of a sale day as EA week for me. I view this as Steam's way of saying "on this day, we let your wallets rest," to which I reply with "oh thank you overlords of my video gaming funds!"  why so serious?

I briefly thought about buying Europa Univeralis III, and then I looked at the steam forums which are quite littered with "this game is crashing on Windows 7" bug posts.

That put that thought safely to bed. Until tomorrow, Steam.

EDIT: Also, my first impression of playing the Witcher: "Wow this journal display is really fucked up."

At $10, it's twice as expensive as everything else.
