Oh? If Schild changed his mind, I didn't get a memo   swamp poop
I also hope he didn't since Klaipeda is fucked for no good reason.

EDIT: I read his previous post about it just now. Oh well.

It's fucked because Orsha is the server Brazilians picked to invade, which is why everyone else is trying to get onto Klaipeda because fuck BR's.

Also, does it matter what character I use to collect my founder pack goodies?  Can I give them to another character later on if I want to?

I'm able to get right in on Klaipeda but the in game lag is extreme - you can't interact with quest NPC's, pick rewards, pick up quest item drops, and so forth.  This isn't just happening to me.  Many players are sounding off in chat that none of the NPC's are able to be interacted with.

Glad I decided to wait on this. Game looks good but I'm not missing the MMO launch day bullshit.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but my experience on Orsha is flawless. Too bad you guys freaked out over nothing (Brasilian?). I will eventually use a server transfer token to get where you all are in the near future, but at the moment I am happy to play on the no-queue no-lag server.

Hey guys?  I'd like to say something without sounding like a dick.  Not sure if that's possible.  What's the appeal of this game?  It looks like jank incarnate.  Can a brotha get a link or a tl;dr paragraph explaining the promise of this game please (I'm aware of the irony involved in light of my recent posts)?

It's Nostalgia + Polish. Something similar to what happens with Final Fantasy XIV. This has better combat than that one though. Diablo-ish combat vs EQ-ish combat. So, million mobs. Pixel carnage feels good.

I didn't have any problems on Klaipeda, either.  Anyway, my Team name is Resser and I made one of each starting class, Ginaz (swordsman), Gramaton (cleric), Lolipalooza (wizard) and Hellica (archer).  Not sure which one I'm going to main yet since I've only played a little bit with the wizard.

I'll see how it is tonight, but I spent las night on Orsha (which had almost no issues) because Kleiprsshse was impossible to get into.  So probably in same boat as Falc.

Though, does it matter at all what server Brazilians are on?  It's a PvE game (with just some arena PvP).....

Brazilians are all over both North American servers, so it pretty much doesn't matter at this point regardless.

Black Desert having server issues right when I'm feeming for some MMOishness is to blame for this purchase.  F13 is on Orsha (for the next month) is the consensus then?

What are the movement and combat controls for this game? Is it mouse driven?

It looks like controller is optimal, but keyboard is possible.  When you try mouse it says it may not be possible for swordsman or cleric, so I'm going to say mouse is not really an option.

Err, Mouse seemed to work just fine when I was playing around with swordsman.....

Got into Klaipedia last night without any queues, though lag was still annoying.  Finally settled on going archer.  Leveled up till I got a few levels into ranger.  After combat started out a bit slow, things really picked up, and I had a lot of fun running around massacring millions of cute little monsters.

Not that it matters.  Going on vacation for two weeks to Japan tomorrow.  Guess I'll see what the state of things is upon my return.   awesome, for real

I've played all four classes to the mid teens with k&m, and it works just fine.  Maybe at some later point there's something that might make it problematic, but I can't think of what it'd be.  I did try it with my controller, and it worked well enough, but you still need to use the F1 to Fx keys to open the character sheet, etc. unless I missed something.

Ive tried keyboard, mouse, and controller schemes while playing an archer up to ~50. For me, controller works best for archer. Im having fun poking around and feel my $10 was worth it. Strongly recommend once it goes free to play, probably worth it now at $10 level if you are interested and looking for a game to play.

Anyone else having performance issues? I was getting 20-25 fps just running around in the starter area; I did this and now my FPS counter is fine in the field (~70) but the graphics still stutter constantly. Crowded areas still drop me to <30 fps as well. GeForce 650 Ti with latest drivers.

My FPS is usually around 60 but there is a lot of lag.  I read somewhere that the gold spammers shouting in general chat non-stop can cause that, esp. in highly crowded areas like the cities.

An impressive guide with a lot of clarifications and obscure formulas.

EDIT: Try to use a skill builder/planner like this because apparently when you commit to a class you can't go back to previous classes. While you can reset (for money) your attribute points, you can't revert to classes you have left behind. As a result, as they say: "if you sniff, you can destroy your character". Considering the time investment, I'd say you really don't want to destroy your character.

I've got my Hoplite to 115 now. Tried to do the 115 dungeon but the dungeons really don't work unless you get lucky and it lets you through. I think I'll take a break for a short bit while they fix their servers. I hope they've got it sorted out by the end of the month when the F2P horde rolls in.

Just bought into this. Presentation is top-notch, but I joined the SEA server to avoid killer lag. So ronery :-(.

Also my name was taken. And my backup name. Balls.

You can use the search function to auto-find a party, but once you find one it will kick you back to the login screen. If you form a party manually and try to enter it will also kick you back to the login screen. It's been broken for a few days now but you can get in if you just enter -> get kicked -> log in -> enter repeat for a long time until you get lucky and it goes through. That's how I did the level 90 dungeon but I didn't have the same luck with the 115. I've heard that the party leader has to enter first but that could be superstitious bullshit, and I've also heard that there can only be a certain amount of dungeons open at one time, but I have a feeling that's bullshit too. Honestly I have no clue what's up with their servers. But they are doing some scheduled maintenance tomorrow so perhaps it will be fixed then.

Also a PSA about names, the one that matters is your Team Name. If you want to whisper someone you /w Team Name and the name that shows on the left when you're in a party is also the Team Name. Actually I'm not even sure how you view someone's character name unless you inspect them, maybe. Also typing /indun will give you a list of Dungeons/Missions and how many daily entries you have left. Also, you drop all your gems when you die so either socket them in something or put them in storage when you're in town.

Interesting thing I didn't know. The XP curve has some "resting places". It's like, every x levels there's a drop in XP needed to level up, to break the impossible grind and give players a chance to take a breath. Interesting concept, basically a psychological trick, and the OPPOSITE of McQuaid's Hell Levels from EverQuest.

Nice, thanks for that. I remember using an EXP card and getting 2 levels at once, leaving me wondering what the hell happened. Those falls also pretty closely coincide with when you max class level and choose a new one. 45~ you're choosing your third, 85~ you're choosing your 4th, and I'm about on track to get my 5th around ~130. It shouldn't be too farfetched to assume I'll get my 6th around 183.

You guys shoulda followed Falc onto his server. That one has been much more stable (and it has less load).

Being patched right now.

https://treeofsavior.com/news/?n=314

50% spawn rate increase in all zones!
Level 40* threshold to use megaphone (to kill goldsellers)
Some dungeon reset scrolls as a compensation for the previous days' instability.

*EDIT: Level 40, not level 4.

Was sort of scratching my head at that considering level 4 is about two minutes of work before actually clicking through the link and seeing it's 40, which seems like a good change.

Glad to see the spawn rate increasing also, though it feels like all of the major farming areas are pretty much insta-killed as soon as they pop anyway (at least if you can't find a low population channel), so it'll help, but there'll still be thumb twiddling.

Being the tank blows in dungeons. My gear is always broken before we get to the end of the dungeon. Tanking the boss consists of using your taunt then frantically running around trying not to get hit because they one shot you. Maybe I just suck but I die a lot (and get to miss out on the loot afterward when it forcibly removes you from the dungeon 20 seconds after the boss dies, woohoo!).

Hum. While using Keyboard controls, you can just press space to talk/interact with environment objects. With mouse-control, this is infinitely more difficult sometimes, since there is no telling where you have to click the mouse to interact with certain environment objects. Like crystals in the crystal mine. Why can't I have both of these methods combined? Gahh!

Edit: Ahh, Reddit to the rescue.
Open hotkey_mousemode_user.xml (I found mine in SteamApps\common\TreeOfSavior\release\ folder), add the following line somewhere:

Code:
<HotKey ID="Select" Name="선택/스킵" DownScp="None" UpScp="None" Key="F" UseShift="NO" UseAlt="NO" UseCtrl="NO" OnEdit="NO" Category="Battle"/>
Replace Key="F" with whatever key you want to use.

The reddit user who suggested this also gave a warning though:

Quote
Also note that your selection will now "lock" onto NPCs. I haven't tested it out yet, but from what I can tell if you mouse-over an NPC (and your mouse icon appears below that NPC) you're permanently bound to that NPC, so if you press F screens away you'll still directly move towards that NPC. A minor hindrance, but you can cancel movement at any time so whatever.

Aforementioned performance issues are completely gone with the patch. Now getting a silky 80-100 FPS in most places, never below 40, with no stuttering whatsoever. Having a lot of fun with Grinding Optimization Simulator 2016, just sad that it didn't come out when I had more time to play it.

Grinding Optimization Simulator 2016

This pretty much perfectly encapsulates how I feel about this game. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it for what it is, but I'm curious. Is there actually any challenge here anywhere? I have yet to have both sufficient free time and patience for humanity at the same time to attempt the group content. What are the dungeons like?

I am level 48 so two levels away from the level 50 dungeon. Looking forward to it although I am not expecting much. From what I could tell, there are at the moment 12 instanced dungeons. The first requires you and your party to be at least level 50, meaning you can't even get in if you aren't, and can only be completed twice a day (three if you are a subscriber). Not sure what to expect, but I have heard people talking about taunt, tanks, and so on. We'll report when I get there, even though I am sure someone else here already did one so they could be the ones reporting.

What's the challenge in this game? I ask myself the same question over and over, while I am mindlessly grinding not even questioning why I am having "a good time", if not fun. I suppose the need for an answer is a thing of the 2010s though, as we used to play these games and roll on this treadmills in the past without trying to find too much of a meaning. Hell, what are Diablo or Marvel Heroes for anyway?

Anyway, there seems to be a big amount of zones to explore and things get harder and harder. So I would think that the catch lies in the little numbers going up, as for all the other games of this kind, be it level, class level, DPS and whatnot. The additional draw is getting more classes, and maybe seeing more enemies and more of the world. Without forgetting, of course, getting the rarest weapons in the process. Getting a named purple shield felt amazing a few nights ago. We are still slaves to that.
