No idea why Gomen has been cut, since everyone seems to use Psi-Strike that I talk to.

Gomen tends to be the go-to because Psi-Strike's animation locks you in place and risks you getting killed. So Psi-Strike gaining a little more ground in dps numbers makes sense as it has a higher risk to use it in content with one-shot mechanics. The assassinate nerf sucks but has been mentioned that it is under investigation as it was not intended to be that big of a nerf (I'm guessing it was a double-dip nerf due to multiple tags). Butterflies is probably in the same place as Assassinate, but no official word.

For SG, the presents nerf is greatly outdone by other buffs and I like it. Though, the autofire nerf I'm not fond of. Yes it had high dps but it also took a bit more of a rotation and more strain on spirit management.

Also, nerf to Rogue's fangs build due to change of Fangs mechanics.

Gomen does quite a bit more damage actually.

I use Gomen instead of Psi-Strike mostly because I like the animation more and not being rooted for as long was always in its favour for me. I know Psi-Strike and Psi-Knife are thematically Betsy, but since I play with Deadly Assassin toggled I always figured 'I have a Psi-Katana now.' SLASH-SLASH.

Psylocke nerfs are not even remotely surprising to me. They layered on so much bonus damage that even a moderately geared Psylocke was obliterating content. Casual million damage brutes with like, random artifacts and junk.

I'm sure the people who min-maxed her were doing like 2-4mil on brute assassinate.

You are losing a ton of dmg from not being a hybrid though, specially if you are sticking with Gomen.

True, but i am also doing 2-4 million bruts with big elbow drop on juggy, and that doesn't have a cooldown and hits a large area.

He'll get the bat too then probably. Being able to do multiple millions of damage on command seems to be where Gaz draws the line. Ironman got a nerf too after his review when his death from above was doing that kind of damage too.

Really, it isn't a unreasonable limit.  why so serious?

One thing about Juggernaut is that the elbow drop is nearly his only damage for a movement build. The only other damage move is Enter the Fray which is his jump and AoE.

Are the crossbow numbers straight-up and not because they removed the conditional damage bonus or something?

Between my contempt for the rest of her forum fanbase and the fact that I run pure mental (actual pure mental, not lazified katana), those changes make my Psylocke very happy in the pants.

Don't take any of the numbers seriously yet.  They did a backend change to the tags, they still have to go through each hero individually.

This "Almost All of the events" event has been entertaining. I think they only reason I don't like it as much as the Halloween event is the Odin's Bounty part pushing you into Holosim and X-Def. I don't like either of those. Pushed Hawkeye through the last four levels to 60 in ICP and took Emma from 5 to 35 in about 40 minutes, that was kind of crazy. I stopped once to allocate points and realized I had 16 saved. She was "rough" until I hit 30 and was able to put a boatload of Omegas into whatever that skill is that is a chance on hit for 42 spirit below 50% spirit.

ICP is in a much better place than it was when it came out. Their map redesign on the east is a bit odd though. That middle building is just as hard to navigate and that north  stair into the Tombstone building seems harder to climb.

It took me a while to get to grips with Emma, too. She finally clicked when I ditched the Headmistress build and stopped faffing about with the stupid bloody pets that you can't control.
Diamond/Mind hybrid feels much better to play for me. Grab pet, murder pet, get buff, kick stuff to death while Kneel Before Me is on cooldown. Layer dem DoTs and Bleeds. So much more deadly and so much more survivability. She's still a little Spirit-hungry but River of the Soul URU blessing and some spirit on hit Omega skills make life much easier.

I should look into that. I really don't know what that pet is doing for me. I even went to get the AIM one recommended. I can at least see it running off after things and occasionally dropping fire stuff, but other than that I can't tell. Do you know, does the pet level with you or do I need to fetch a new one every couple of levels?

It does not level with you, so you'll want to grab new ones as you level.

Thanks for the heads up. That does explain why my little fire guy was getting pasted left and right toward the end of the not quite so stately cruise to 60. This event's more than a little crazy for XP. I went from 43 to 60 in about two hours last night. Granted this was in Midtown on Midtown Monday, but something was off and Odin chests were dropping as well. I did 59-60 in two boss waves. In hindsight, I should have taken Punisher out and just suffered through it.

Cruised to 60 with Invisible Woman last night. She's really fun, though from what I read she's on the weak side at 60. Though with Resonating Wave, I can't imagine that any group would pass on her. She's really the only hero I haven't had any resource problems with that needed to be geared or omega'd to fix.

For some weird, nerdy, obsessive reason I can't buy IW or MF without buying the other one at the same time so thanks to the 200 splinter gift I'm sitting on 680ish ES hoping to get to 800 soon.

There is a neat little feature in the new patch, when you log out now, it tells you what you'll get for logging in tomorrow. I wonder what little bit of psychology that is trying to tap into.

The new log-in screen is lovely. I also see they've been fiddling with some skill icons and animations/effects; I've only played for about an hour over the last week (basically midtown last night) but I noticed several changes with Emma. She definitely feels like she's benefitted from the powers-pass - Kneel Before Me now insta-gibs entire Midtown mob groups in one hit.

I'm a big fan of the new 'Try till level 10' feature.

I'm not such a big fan of a random hero unlock that gives me Hawkeye.

Like, not at all.

Because he ain't much fucking fun.

Kate Bishop is like practically an avenger. And her voice acting is insanely good. What's not to like about Hawkeye. Now if you are forced to play Hawkguy, I'm sorry. But spend the 14 bucks and play Kate Bishop and...ok... yea... It will just make a miserable experience tolerable. She really does make it 10 times better though.  Also read the ongoing Hawkeye Matt Fraction run. It's amazing.

Hawkeye/Kate is a beast at 60. It's the getting there that can be torturous.

Hawkeye does teach you all about the "good" leveling artifacts like Mark of the Odinbourne, Scrolls of Pama and Maht's Arrowhead though. Because not only is Hawkeye underpowered, he's also a spirit hog. It's the best of both worlds. why so serious?

Aaaaand X-23 is LIVE.

I still think she needs work, and I'm pretty sure Gaz thinks so too, but she's playable as-is for now. I think cursing her with Wolverine's Fury mechanic was a poor design decision, though. His skill trees are built for standing and shredding, half of X-23's skills are designed around you moving constantly and the Wrath costs are crazy high. It's literally 3 seconds of high octane combat and then OOW.
