You should have played it a few iterations ago.  It had no game play interface.

Not the hottest thing, especially since it's still alpha, but Dream is worth checking out at 50% off.

Sniper Elite V2 free for 24 hours only on Steam today. You must install it today or it goes back to regular price tomorrow. No idea if it's any good... but free.

Gaming has gotten to the point where free isn't good enough for most games. I have 200 games I paid for that i haven't played. Why would I download a shitty one for free?

We do live in a world where I got it and if there are steam cards I will probably install it and start it just to get the cards and sell them for .50 which is 1/5th of a decent game on sale.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Sniper Elite is the series basically made for YouTubers and GIF makers where you shoot Hitler's ball off and get a 120fps slowmo internal shot of it. That's about it really.

This is kinda related to the topic: if you're a subscriber of IGN Prime and also interested in S2 of The Walking Dead, check your mail: they've some Steam codes fresh out of the oven (but you have to click on the "get my code" link provided in the mail).

Quote
We have 10,000 codes for the full Season Two of the excellent episodic graphic adventure, The Walking Dead. We will be releasing 2,500 codes each week over the next 4 weeks on Tuesdays at 11am PDT. Codes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wait...IGN Prime?  That's a paid subscription?  What on earth for?

That said, I wish I had a code.

Codes were gone really fast. And I'm not sure if IGN Prime is actually a paid subscription or not; I got a code for a 1-year membership like...4 years ago when I was working in retail. I redeemed said code then and I still have a membership. I know they're not charging a CC of mine or anything because I don't have any cards that I still had back then. Maybe they changed my 1 year into a lifetime for some reason.

Same here: I was an old IGN "insider" subscriber back in the mid '00 (err, I don't even remember why I subscribed in the first place, maybe something related to fileplanet and oblivion mods); I've been automatically switched to the new service, IGN Prime, when it opened, but now I'm apparently a subscriber who is going to be billed next on 12/31/1969  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I've been avoiding it until it was all completed for the season, and on sale.

Now I just have to remember to actually buy it when I get home.   swamp poop

Oh hey, Assassin's Creed franchise on sale. I picked up III for $5 (and all the previous titles are the same price!), and they've got 4 for $27.

I'm surprised by the number of titles that are $19.99 on that store that should be permanently $5. I guess they keep 'em high to encourage purchases on sales.

Bioshock Infinite at 75% off on mid-week madness.

I've had this game for months, and somehow have never gotten around to installing it.

Interestingly, this is now cheaper than the iOS version of the original Bioshock game which is $10.99 here in Canada. I welcome the publishers playing with different pricing models.

And most 2K games are 75% off at ozgameshop, one of those decent digital and physical goods shops that doesn't gouge Australians.

The exploration sale. Though to be honest, I'm not sure there's much I'll be getting on this one.

Like other sales, there is a lot of "minor" titles that will be probably sold with a 75-80%(or even more) throughout the entire period. Indie puzzle/platformers, interactive exploration stories (similar to "Dear Esther").

Two very short titles that seem interesting enough compared to their discounted price:

The Bridge - http://store.steampowered.com/app/204240
Hero of the Kingdom - http://store.steampowered.com/app/259550

I think I'll definitely purchase "Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons" (-80%)

I'm willing to wait for a 75% on The Wolf Among Us, Stanley Parable and Papers Please

EDIT: other "casual" titles, not necessarily at 70%+ discount:

Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey - http://store.steampowered.com/app/328730
The Moon Sliver - http://store.steampowered.com/app/329830/
Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride - http://store.steampowered.com/app/284850/ (similar to Tiny Bang Story?)
Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call - http://store.steampowered.com/app/284790/ (see above: "hidden object" game)

Rocksmith stuff 25% off. It hasn't gone on sale the last few rounds, so might be worth taking the risk vs the xmas sale...

How do you find anything on Steam these days? Browsing is worthless, and their categorization seems majorly broken (4 of the top 8 "strategy" titles are Counter-Strike variants), not to mention the beyond-stupid "indie" category. Search isn't helpful unless there's something specific one is looking for.

Mostly I just check the new releases every day or two, and wishlist stuff that I might buy for sales.  Then check my wishlist to see if anything there is on sale.

Thanks for that link. I can't find jack shit on Steam any more with their shitty new UI.

I've picked up a few things in the last days from Steam, GMG and Nuuvem. Mostly de-disc-ing things, but I did pick up Samaurai Warriors for 5 bucks, which isn't too bad.

Not really a Steam deal, but since all games get a Steam activation key I think it's worth putting it here anyway.

https://www.humblebundle.com/flash

- War of the Roses: Kingmaker
- March of the Eagles
- Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron game
- Sword of the Stars 2
- Cities in Motion 2
- Warlock: Master of the Arcane

Basically some questionable and unsuccesful Paradox games but it's still good stuff for the price point (2.50$) and even more so considering the charity. War of the Roses is actually a favourite of mine and while the base game is free to play but more like a demo, this DLC lets you in the whole thing.
