Massively has just covered a story about a game that's about to launch:
http://www.massively.com/2010/05/12/craft-of-gods-announces-launch-offers-and-new-trailer-video/#continued

It's from Italian developer Kalicanthus who make F2P MMOs.

It is based on Slavic mythology. I don't know a great deal about that except via CJ Cherryh who wrote a couple of Russian themed fantasies that were very enjoyable. It has some quite whacky features.

This is what it says about crafting:

Quote
"So do not forget 4 rules:
1.    The instruments are important.
2.    The time and moon phase during crafting is important.
3.    The weather is important.
4.    The location of crafting is important."

and this is what it says about pvp:

Quote
"And finally, if you will succeed in capturing one of the Tower items, you will be transformed into a Demigod!"

Anyone tried it yet?

Edit: spotted this gem -

Quote
Some quests ask you to enter a dungeon alone, but don't do it - some of the bosses have special powers that you cannot even imagine or acquire.

Someone told me it's a Russian game that this Italian company bought for some cheap wine and a slew of prosciutto. I could be wrong though, I was about to check my facts a few days ago but I lost interest for reasons I can't remember.

The gameplay shown in their trailer video is soporific.

It certainly makes more sense for a Russian/Ukrainian developer to create a game based around Slavic mythology. And prosciutto is awesome. So there. Proof.

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

Is it taken from WURMS?

No. I think there was another title that read a crafting list like this... I almost want to say dark and light.

I played their open beta a tiny bit. So full of fail. Crappy graphics, both characters and world. Combat was typical autoattack and abilities, but done very poorly. I felt so disconnected from my opponents. Also their transition from the tutorial zone to the game proper was awful. You use a teleporter to leave the tutorial but it doesn't send you to your starting village, it sends you near it. So I wound up missing my village and wandering in the woods. Was a same night download and uninstall.

I the game I heard it in was some sort of space RTS... Can't recall the name.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I want a game where I can be a retired adventurer and farm and fish and craft, without the BS of ATiTD.  Although I still want to be able to go smack a monster now and again.  I guess there still is nothing like that, is there?
