It means spending time with friends and family. And booze, which is like one of the family. Everyone has the next day off, so it is a great time to get together for late night frivolity.
You would probably need to leave your street to enjoy it though.
For the record: I work with my friends, at one job or another. I live close enough to the family I give a shit about that I can see them whenever I please (but it would just be aunts and uncles, so NYs would be even More of a waste). I don't really drink. Oh, and it turns out I don't Actually have NY's off in full. So there. I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish there. |
