Turbo mode is pretty crucial for late-game grinding, too.  Love the idea of that.

Persona 5 will release in the US on February 14 2017. No release date for EU announced and according to Atlus "there's nothing to announce regarding an European release"

So SMT IV all over again. Expect an EU release in 2018 if ever.

I'm not seeing "exclusive" in that post. Signs are good we'll get a PC release in due time.  awesome, for real

It'll be as "exclusive" as the X/X-2 HD remake, which means it'll probably stay on PS4/Vita, then get ported to PC after a while.

Gollop, the creator of X-Com, goes back to his origins with a new X-Com inspired game. The interesting part? Procedural enemies. Lore says a virus mutate life forms, so the enemies mutate and counter your tactics by mixing and matching genetic code/parts/limbs/tentacles/shells/weapons.

Sounds great to me.

I'm confident you are not.  I wasn't really able to get into that DS Fire Emblem for some reason.  I do enjoy Disgaea but it's not the same.

Unrelated, I believe my wife has preordered the new Star Ocean.

I loved Disgaea 1, but it wasn't all about the tactics. FF:T was all about the tactics, the story and characters were wretched.

Does Pocket Kingdoms on the N-Gage count?  why so serious?

Fuck me, pocket kingdoms, talk about ahead of its time. Also, wasn't that closer to a JRPG than tactics game?

I'm going to retreat from this since I prefer the Ivalice political stuff to the other stories, and I enjoyed how it was delivered in FF:T.  That is one reason I like FFXII so much.

As I said, didn't play it simply for the tactics. It's why I've missed the last 3. I played it because of the world and the weird horseshit.

I didn't really like FF:T.  I just could never get into it on any platform.

I also didn't like FF:T or any of the DS spin offs (Advance/A2 or w/e).   I did like Vandal Hearts on PlayStation and Mystaria on Saturn.

Honestly don't know, as I never played FF:T. I did like PK though.

Pocket Kingdoms was upsettingly ahead of itself though. I mean, it was technically a social RPG that was ripe for RMT had the idea existed as it does. It was all these shitty iOS games before iOS was even a thing. Amazing. Shame no one remembers it. Or bought it.

I think I might start up The Schild Chronicles again, playing through my entire steam library, A to Z, skipping multiplayer specific weirdness (like board games). Hmmmm.

OMG gaming content on F13? On the front page? No way! Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Not that I tend to write about it, but I'm about to start transitioning to my next assignment for a year. I plan to do some serious damage to my gaming backlog between verification trips, when I will allegedly have a lot of time on my hands. Heck, maybe I will do some writing anyway, just to pass the time.

I'm with you.  I loved FFT.  Other than the new X-com games (which are fantastic), I haven't played anything that's come close since.

I thought FF:T probably had one of the best plots on any video game I've played (damning with faintest praise, I know).

The original Schild Chronicles ten years ago lasted less then two weeks, so we'll see.

On my end I've barely touched games this year (mostly just been Hex, Dark Souls 3, and Rocksmith). That's partly because I decided to put a heavy focus on movies this year which I largely discuss elsewhere but I'm up to 298 movies for the year so far. Planning on building a new PC this year by August hopefully though which would be my first new one in probably around six years.

When you start buying bundles, you start to accumulate a lot of utter shit real quick.

I'm almost tempted to stream some of the steamier piles of crap in the library. I've got some real steamers in there from developer bundles.

Yeah, I have 586 games accumulated currently.  So many developer sale bundles (which they don't seem to do anymore), along with my inability to not buy anything on sale for a buck or two if it looks even slightly interesting.  I've played a fraction of them.

I was drunk the entire time I lived in Arizona for the most part. Also, It was only intended to last a month, and I ended up getting into a game I didn't want to walk away from after a day (Atelier Iris). I couldn't have forseen that.
