Topic: X-Box adaptors for 360? (Read 2305 times)

ok, so there's at least a year by my guessing until the 360 is actually worthwhile for me to buy, but when it eventually does happen, I'd really like to be able to continue using my arcade joysticks and driving wheel on the new one.
So I'm wondering if there are currently any adaptors that let you use the older ones on the new machine? I'd assume there would be, since it's just USB, right? But then again Lik-Sang doesn't seem to have any adaptors, which is odd, since those wacky Chinese quickly go nuts on the 3rd party accessory bandwagon.\
So.. what's the dealio?

From what i've read the two devices you specifically mention - joystich and wheel - don't work. Mice, keyboards, usb data keys (read only), USB lavalamps, fans, USB drives (read only) all work. However standard USB joysticks and wheels do not, driver issue. Bummer for sure as i have a Saitek x3something stick and throttle i'd like to get working but all my efforts are in vain afaik.

Speaking of marketing, we're out of milk.

oops, sorry I was unclear. I have an X-Box specific arcade joystick, not a PC-USB flightstick (think Street Fighter). The Wheel is also an X-Box-based one, not a PC-USB.

Are the 360's cabled inputs just standard USB plugs?

The USB inputs on the Xbox 360 use the standard "flat" USB connector and not the "mini" connector you sometimes see if that's what you are asking.

Ah, thanks. I'd assumed for some reason that they were still using silly proprietry-console plugs.
