I played a whole lot yesterday and decided to see about getting my teamups to 60. Quicksilver was the most surprisingly handy one. He has this spinny thing that pulls mobs in much more reliably than any of the player based ones and it moves bosses. Handy.

Quicksilvers annoying habbit of not standing still for 2 seconds also makes him one of the best surviving team ups in play because he does not sit and eat AOE damage like most of them do. His constant zipping around means nothing really has any prolonged time to beat on him before he is off again even before the team up enhancments he was about the best for uptime of any team ups I own.

I found his constant zooming incredibly annoying. I stick with Magik, at least she has a cute accent and a heal.

WE ARE GROOT

I keep going back to treedude, even though I have better damage dealers (havok, ironman2, drax). There is something magical about murdering a screenful of enemies as Rocket while five Groots of different sizes swarm them (well ok, potted groot doesn't do too much swarming)

My main Team-ups are Magick for Doom, Domino for my Physical Chars and Coulson for my ranged.  I've had good success with Firestar, too, but those three seemed to do me the most good across all the characters.

Wolverine sucks terribly in my experience. Spiderwoman isn't bad on survivability but her output for me was low so it might be better-off making her passive. Wasp's passive is just too good for Juggernaut to make her active at all. Arachnae was fun but no biggie. Quicksilver I teamed with Punisher and didn't see much difference. I should play them more. Cap-Falcon I teamed with my 2nd attempt at Deadpooling it up last week and gave up because Deadpool just isn't that fun for me, melee or ranged.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

Wasps passive translates to 800 damage rating, i think any active team up ends up trumping that.

Insignia has near-100% uptime on two groot saplings for me.

Clea continues to be my most effective teamup. The armors and AOE and such keep her up basically indefinitely.

Yes the zooming is annoying but it really does make him immune to a lot of the stuff that murders teamups or at least used to murder team ups which is ground effect fire stuff. Old team ups would just stand in fire and die.

They hold up pretty good once you get cosmic gear with 4s immunity every 10s and 100% heal every time you medkit.

I've not seen either of those effects. All I've seen are the +1 to away powers, there needs to be a smiley for the guy from Trading Spaces "Now I can go to the movies...by myself", and the stacking damage buff on enemies killed.

I was wondering how they could justify having Carnage as a good guy.  Turned out to be way awesomer than i expected:

I already love the Spider-Gwen costume/team-up but the models for Agent Venom and Archangel are perfect. Carnage can still DIAF, though.

Costume must haves: Mighty Thor, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, New X-men Jean Grey (that is such a good job)

I don't think any of these are live/on test yet, I'm guessing this is stuff from SDCC?

Unified story mode is coming in shortly and the plan is apparently to remove the xp boost potion reward from mr sinister entirely.

Assuming you've done story mode once, you'll have all the waypoints - so this is probably a good time to run mr sinister on normal, heroic, and superheroic using each of your level 60s.

I ran it on my 'main' (Rocket) and the two of my 60 heroes that have teleports (cable, surfer). I tried to do it with other characters, but my eyes started glazing over. I'm just not cut out for this kind of tedium, I think (I tried to chain-run Kurse and Doc Oc once with a bunch of boosts, and I got the urge to stab things after the third run or so)

Though, trying to rush him on SH with a level 50 Black Widow (leveled her just for the synergy, it's active almost all the time on Rocket) and wondering why I was getting 2-shot was kinda amusing. I actually managed to get him to 50% (thx overpowered sig), but when the clone pods started dropping, that's all she wrote.

Ran sinister on 17 level 60s last night, and it wasn't as horrible as I feared; I got to assign bucketloads of omegas and then remember how each hero actually works.

I find that using similar power layouts helps a LOT with the "how each hero actually works" bit. Autoattack on lmb, line/cone aoe (depending on hero, but they ALL have one so far) on rmb, moderate cooldown (usually charged) dps-boosting attack on 1, mainline 'hit whenever it's up' dps ability on 2, boss-killing dps ability on 3, movement ability on 4, burst power (usually sig) on 5, survivability skill on 6 (sig also goes here unless it's a burst skill).

Other shit is on multi-bars: alt-12345 for self-buffs and stuff (alt-2 is always the CC breaker), shift-12345 for more situational attacks, targeted AOE dots, and cooldowns if the hero has any (shift-1 is always a travel power).

Summoners are different, but I only have SG -- her rotation is 123 wait 456 wait, repeat while holding down the LMB anyway.

Christ, that's complicated.

If I can't fit it on the single standard bar, I don't use it.

LMB: basic attack
RMB: dash/teleport

A is almost always a big damage ST or boss killer
S is almost always a general spirit spender
D is almost always a big hitter AE
F G & H are situational depending on the character, but H will usually be a self-buff if they have one.

Toggles and travel powers I relegate to bar two as they're fire & forget and I only rarely use dedicated travel powers if I'm stuck on one end of IC/MM and need to be at the other.

Similarly, I pretty much always put aoes on A and S, signature on D, ultimate on F.

Q for utility, W, E for single target, R for medpack, LMB for spender (or basic when levelling), RMB for movement.

CC break is always slot 1 bar 2, and permanent summons or toggles also on bar 2.

I do the same 'All heroes have the same type of powers on the same buttons' thing.  It really helps to know your movement 'get the fuck out' is on the same mouse button every time.

I ran Sinister story mode a few times last night just so I knew I had a bunch to fall back on if the removal did go through. I don't use pots that often but they help when plowing through late prestige levels.

What's the deal with completed story missions that have a checkmark next to them, but the reward icon is still empty (as opposed to completed missions with no reward icon at all)? Is there no reward for those and it's just a display bug? Do I have to do something extra to get the reward? (talking to the NPCs or even doing the mission again doesn't seem to do anything) Is it just missing content that will be added in At A Later Date? It's driving me / my OCD crazy, gaaah!

I am going to guess that it is tracking whether you received the full complement of rewards for the quest, Normal-Superheroic. A check without a reward icon might mean that you have technically finished the quest per the unified story, but since you only did it once or twice you only still have outstanding reward? Just a guess.

Yeah, that's very possible (I think I did 100% of the story on normal, 50%ish on heroic, and 30%ish on SH). Problem is, with only one difficulty level, there doesn't seem to be any way of fixing that now. /sadf
