Secret Wars was an example, not a request - it was the first real Marvel crossover event and was quite simplistic.  However, they could eventually draw upon it.  The fact that it was so simplistic actually might help them as the big problem with things like Civil War are there were dozens of storylines and not enough time to touch on most of it (not that all of the storylines in Civil War are worth touching upon).

Evolutionary War makes the most sense to me.  Sympathetic antagonist with a slight insanity and ends justify the means problem, has history with Scarlet Witch, involved the Inhumans to some extent, etc.

Pretty intense Infinity War spoilers:

I'm not sure if you're joking or not but that's pretty much that dude in every story he's in.  why so serious?

My new Marvel rankings:

Cap II > GotG > IM > Daredevil > Avengers > Captain America > Avengers II > Thor > Thor II > All Hail the King > Agents of Shield > Agent Carter (One Shot) > Item 47 > Iron Man II > Agent Carter (Series) > AFTHotWtTH > The Consultant > Incredible Hulk > Iron Man III

All of them are things I'll rewatch happily, although after 3 viewings of Avengers II, I'm done with it for a while.

2020 will be the year I gave up all hope.

Didn't even know the 'one shots' existed until now. More Ben Kingsley?! Yes!

You know, Trevor Slattery post-meeting the real Mandarin might be a great one-shot appearance on the Netflix Marvel shows...

I really want to see the 'real' Mandarin used in the MCU.  Not because I love the comic character - because they built him up in Iron Man 3 and the one shot.  At this point, I'd settle for another one shot where Slattery accidentally kills the Mandarin and gets the rings himself...

Wasn't there a theory floated somewhere that Slattery really was the Mandarin but he put on the act to fool Stark knowing he could use his arrogance against him?

Kingsley.  Slattery was Tony's dad.

Howard Stark (played by John Slattery and Dominic Cooper) is Tony's pop.

Trevor Slattery, the 'Mandarin', is played by some kid named Kingsley.  There is a rumor that the character is named Slattery in 'honor' of John Slattery.

I think that's a terrible theory because what's his end game?  "Stark, you fool, you fell for my deception and now I go to prison! Muhahaha....oh"

Kingsley played an awesome Mandarin and so we twist the story to allow him to continue playing the Mandarin.

Currently the comics have female Thor.  She's not Thor, but she's totally Thor.   ... what?  "Thor" isn't a title... I don't even... what?!

Mandarin getting locked up as part of his nefarious plan isn't in the same universe of retarded as that.

What I want to know is could anyone lift the hammer before Lecter put the curse on it ?

In the MCU at least I believe the answer would be yes, he specifically curses the hammer that only the worthy may lift it.

I think they should.  I was thinking about this last night and remembering all the post Venom stuff and realizing that what I liked about Spider Man was when he was young.

I mean, he gets to the point where he's married to a supermodel with a bod and look most would kill for and his own place teaching a good job.

It's like;  who gives a fuck about you anymore ?  You're basically living the dream because you're also a GOD because of your super powers.

All you have that's a problem for any version of spider man we've seen recently is his fucking women troubles.  Which is hugely, enormously, unbelievably boring.

Well they are going young and he's supposed to be the young like 15 year old Peter Parker.  I could have sworn I read somewhere that they wanted the first few movies to be his sophmore, junior, and senior years of high school.

That fits with his origin, so baby faced Spidey is OK with me.  It might be really cool to have a young kid coming in to help the Avengers.  He could be the audience stand in, amazed at all the cool shit flying around him.

It also fits with the rest of the MCU;  You can imagine a 15 year old just 'starting out' which gives explanation to why he's not been around.  Thin, but acceptable.

It also fits with the spidey kids see today on Disney XD.  The Ultimate Spider Man crew is all teenagers.

The Mouse is starting to realize 40 year old men are a worthy target.  Look at the new Muppets show.  That is aimed at a broad audience.

Seeking proof was not my reaction, at least.

The OG Muppet Show was very much aimed at the broad audience.

The original Muppet Show was not House of Mouse.

Almost everything Muppet between 1981 and Segel's movie was aimed at kids.  Muppets were for kids for 30 years.  Disney even dumbed down the sequel to Segel's movie when he was not at the helm.  The new series is focused on capitalizing on nostalgia - and older audiences.

Similarly, the Marvel kiddie cartoons (Ultimate Spider-man, Avengers, Agents of Train Wreck) have all started off aimed at young kids and skewed older quickly as the executives realize that kids are not the exclusive audience.  They're still aiming too young, but they went from 8 year olds to 12 year olds.... they'd be better off looking at the way the Batman series from the 90s was aimed.

Avengers did the opposite of what you're describing - the first 2 seasons of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" had a lot of continuity and complexity, then when it switched to whatever it is now it became more monster of the week and clearly skewed a few years younger, in terms of things like art style and plot complexity.

One could argue that Disney also went for a younger audience when they canceled Clone Wars when they acquired the Star Wars franchise and replaced it with Rebels.
